The Rocky Horror Show Returns to Barcelona
The legendary musical THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW will be performed at the Teatro Coliseum in Barcelona from October 23 to November 2. Originally debuting in London in 1973, it has become a pop culture icon and remains one of the longest-running musicals. A highlight of this tour is the return of Jason Donovan, who will reprise his role as Frank-n-Furter after 27 years. Donovan first played this character in 1998 and expresses his excitement and comfort in returning to the role.
The storyline follows Brad and Janet, two college students whose lives take a wild turn when their car breaks down near a mysterious mansion. Here, they encounter the eccentric Frank-n-Furter, leading them on an unforgettable adventure filled with music, costumes, and comedy, promoting audience engagement. The cast features 15 actors and live musicians from London?s West End, accompanied by The Rocky Horror Band. Directed by Christopher Luscombe, the production preserves the show's essence with hit songs like "Sweet Transvestite," "Damn it Janet," and "Time Warp." Since its premiere, the musical has entertained over 35 million people in more than 30 countries and has been translated into 20 languages.
